The town contains a population of 50,000 and has historically always been a significant maritime centre as a result of its location. It offers sandy beaches to holiday goers from all over the United Kingdom.

Margate is easy to access as it’s served by rail. The town’s train station opened in 1926. The region is pretty diverse when it comes to employment as residents work in a number of sectors. These include retail, manufacturing, health and social work, construction, education, property, transport and communications, hotels and restaurants, public administration, agriculture, and finance.

However, the region has suffered somewhat recently in relation to tourism as numerous Britons are enjoying inexpensive holidays to the rest of Europe. But as a result of its proximity to London, many visitors from the nation’s capital still visit frequently.

There is certainly plenty to see and do in Margate for people spanning various ages and interests. Examples of the town’s attractions range from the Dreamland theme park, a mini golf course, an art gallery, a museum, this was closed in 2008 and may even reopen, a marketplace, and 2 famous theatres.
