Fantastic Vacations In On The Isle Of Arran

Scotland, in Britain, is a tremendous destination to take a short break featuring a valuable number of tourist attractions including some of the finest museums and galleries in the United Kingdom,  countryside perfect for ramblers, mountain climbers, hikers, hill-walkers and the likes together with a multitude of castles, historical buildings, country homes and fortified houses.  In the following article I talk about the Isle of Arran and describe why this is such a fantastic place in which to take a vacation.

The Isle of Arran is the seventh largest island in the country of Scotland and although the island is often grouped in with the islands of the Hebrides it is actually situated in the Firth of Clyde which is further south. As tourism is the island’s main industry you will not find it surprising to discover that there is a massive selection of Isle of Arran hotels. Although the vast majority of folk take vacations on the island to enjoy the breathtaking countryside the island also features a small selection of local attractions including; Arran Heritage Museum, Brodick Castle Gardens, Arran Transport Museum and Kildonan Castle.

There are several centres of population, the biggest settlement is Brodick, where you will find the ferry terminal with sailings to Ardrossan on the North Ayrshire coast. Lamlash, situated 4 miles south of Brodick, is where you can sail to Holy Island. Read the full story
