Save on Hotels by Planning Ahead

Wherever you decide to stay on this round, round world of ours, you can save yourself a bundle of money and still stay in places with style!

By reserving rooms online with sites such as priceline.com, you can bid on rooms and get a price far below the rack rate.

Hotels that might run above £200 at the last minute could be reserved for half that. You can go to San Francisco or Singapore, Istanbul or Paris, it doesn’t matter. Plan your trip and do it for less.

If you’re flying, it’s also always best to book at least three weeks in advance. Airlines will jack up their prices in the last days before the date you want to travel because they know their planes will be filling up and there’s always some sucker who will pay top prices for their seat. Well don’t be that sucker! Buy in advance, but not too far.

Wait for deals to open up about six to three weeks before you take off. This will give you a good window of opportunity to stretch your pound the furthest. Continue Reading

Chinese tourists visits Boracay despite travel ban

Chinese tourists continue to visit Boracay Island in Aklan despite the travel ban being imposed by the Chinese government due to the standoff on the controversial Scarborough Shoal.

Edralin Piluton, Boracay tourism officer, said that according to records, more Chinese tourists went to Boracay last May compared to the same period last year.

“In the month of May last year we registered 3, 200 Chinese tourists but this May 2012 we registered 4,400 tourists. The difference however is that Chinese tourists come on their own. Before the travel ban, we received Chinese tourists on group tours,” said Piluton. Continue Reading

Living in Valencia in Negros Occidental

Hi,

I am thinking seriously of moving to Valencia and I have 2 questions about Valencia. What is the weather like there? Is it normally 80′s and 90′s or 70′s and 80′?

And are there many insects like knats and flies that can make picnics uncomfortable? I am from Florida and really dislike the extreme heat 80′s and high 90′s and 90% humidity and also the bugs here which makes for unpleasant times outdoors. Thank you, John
